Electrical Installation
A UL-Listed Load Center (NEMA 3R) with appropriate circuit breakers will supplied to any building that has electrical components. Each building will also be supplied with a static electricity grounding kit.
The kit consists of the following:
- Building Ground Lug (attached to base)
- Grounding Electrode with Lug (8 or l0 feet)
Site Grounding Techniques
A COMPETENT, LICENSED ELECTRICIAN SHOULD CONDUCT ALL WIRING OF THE BUILDING. THE WIRING SHALL CONFORM TO THE LATEST EDITION OF NFPA 70 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, IN ADDITION TO ALL LOCAL CODES.
Grounding Your Storage Building
NOTE: Your grounding rod is attached to the steel grate flooring during shipment of your chemical building.
- To reduce the risk of shock to site personnel, all metal buildings need to be grounded. To properly ground a structure, penetrate the earth adjacent to the building with the grounding rod. Use a 10-gauge copper conductor wire to then connect the rod to the building.
- Each container should then be grounded individually using the same wire. The containers should be grounded to the interior lugs located in the corners of the building.
- Additional connections should be provided between containers if you are dispensing throughout the building. This can be done with the Gator clips and copper conductor wire. A conductor wire should be used to connect each container to a grounded lug.
If you have additional questions regarding the grounding of the building, please call a licensed electrician.
