Agricultural Chemical Storage Building

Agricultural Chemical Storage Building

Farming is tough work, especially if your logistics aren’t squared away.  Getting one’s hands dirty is nothing compared to product loss or degradation that comes with unsuitable storage.  Although essential to crop management, fertilizers come with serious risks.  Fertilizers like ammonium nitrate are flammable. Pellets can melt or deteriorate if improperly stored. Other inorganic fertilizers are also susceptible to moisture permeation, while pests will nibble away at uncontained organic compounds.  Agricultural Chemical Storage Buildings protect various-sized liquid and granular fertilizers and herbicide stockpiles with superior steel manufactured paneling and spill sump containment. We leave nothing to chance.  Agronomically-centric fertilizer and herbicide storage lockers streamline farm storage and inventorying for optimal crop yields.

Spill Containment Shelving

U.S Hazmat’s Agricultural Storage Buildings Come Equipped With Standard Spill Sump Containment for Soil Contamination and Run-off Prevention. Optional Shelving Also Streamlines Herbicide, Fungicide, and Vet Supplies Storage.

Certain liquid fertilizers, such as ammonium nitrate are extremely flammable. Our Agricultural Chemical Storage Buildings Meet OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.109(i) for storing flammable fertilizers and pesticides.

Liquid Fertilizer Storage

Although liquid fertilizers can enrich topsoil for healthy yields, special storage considerations are the difference between bonanza or bust. Always store sealed liquid fertilizer containers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Never store liquid fertilizers with flammable materials. Our agricultural chemical storage buildings can easily accommodate all-sized palletized stacks and IBC tote containment systems. Liquid fertilizers, such as urea-ammonium nitrate solutions, require specialized storage tanks, which we can easily accommodate. Wide-swinging or roll-up doors allow for the easy removal and storage of liquid fertilizer containers and pallets by hand truck or forklift. We also offer optional mechanical ventilation, preventing toxic vapor accumulations that lead to fires from errant sparks.

Granular Fertilizer

Granular fertilizers, or pellets, require storage similar to liquid compounds. Pellets, however, absorb air moisture, so maximizing optimal atmospheric flows with timely air exchanges protects expensive fertilizers. Secondary sump containment becomes standard in each agricultural chemical storage building. A large sump is affixed to each building’s bottom beneath a steel-grated flooring, so there is no need to kick the dirt off your boots when coming and going with necessary supplies. Spill sump containment is a must to avoid stream and surface water pollution. We recommend a larger storage locker with turnkey access for bulkier granular stockpiles. And don’t worry about rodents burrowing into supplies. Solid steel sheet paneling and superior industry-leading welds provide year-long protection from pests and thieves.

Special Herbicide Storage

Air Ventilation Control Unit

Finding suitable herbicide storage is tougher than finding a needle in a haystack. Never store herbicides with pesticides or fertilizers, as cross-contamination risks persist. Storing herbicides between 40 and 100 degrees F preserves product consistency while preventing degradation. Our non-fire-rated chemical storage lockers provide optimal environments for all leading herbicide brands. Optional mechanical ventilation and climate control keep herbicide stockpiles in the Goldilocks zone of compliant protection.

Pesticide Storage & Containment

We don’t mean to be a pest about compliant chemical storage, but negligence always besets crop yields. Pesticides are an unfortunate reality in modern agriculture. Foregoing optimal and safe pesticide storage before planting season will undermine a fruitful harvest. Always store pesticides in a locked chemical storage shed or warehouse with an internal temperature between 40 and 90 degrees. Like with fertilizers or herbicides, pesticide separation is crucial. Fire-rated chemical protection is your best tool for storing certain flammable pesticides.

Farm Equipment Lubricants Storage

Agricultural Chemical Storage Buildings aren’t limited to fertilizer and herbicide storage. These industry-standard lockers provide superior protection bar none. Our buildings are also great for safely storing engine oils, greases, gear oils, transmission fluids, coolants, and veterinarian pharmaceuticals and supplies.

Properly managing pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers is essential to prevent accidents, environmental damage, and health risks. Agricultural Chemical Storage Buildings provide secondary containment systems and adhere to local and federal regulations, such as those by OSHA, EPA, and NFPA.
